The State is one of the world’s largest exporters of iron ore
and natural gas, and also has very large reserves of many other minerals.
Perth has a very easy-going lifestyle – the beautiful Swan River
and inner-city parks like Kings Park add to the relaxed, natural feel.
There is much to see and do in this part of the State, from swimming
in crystal clear ocean waters to enjoying a sunny afternoon sipping a
cold beer at an open-air pub.
Public Transport in Perth is administered through the Public Transport
Authority (PTA) which is an agency of the State Government. The PTA controls
all public transport in Perth and also operates the urban train network.
Bus operations are contracted out to private operators who lease, maintain
and operate a fleet of over 1200 public transport buses which are owned
by the State Government. All public transport operations are controlled
by the PTA which sets fares, routes and timetables.
A single ticketing system allows passengers to use the same ticket to
travel on buses, trains or ferries throughout Perth.
