BC Transit Award Contract for 20 Fuel Cell Buses

The British Columbia Transportation Minister, Kevin Falcon, announced the award of a $46.4 Million Canadian contract to build a fleet of 20 fuel cell buses.

The buses will be built by New Flyer Industries of Winnepeg. 

ISE Corporation of San Diego will be reponsible for the hybrid drive system.

Ballard Power Systems will provide the fuel cell modules.

Dynatek Industries will provide the hydrogen storage system.

The buses will have a range of 500 kms, a top speed of 90 kms per hour and a life expectancy of 20 years.
